"An absolutely fantastic two day workshop with Spinning Wheel Theatre focusing on ‘Romeo and Juliet’. I cannot praise the professionalism of Amy, Becca, and their actors any higher. Every staff member was friendly, approachable, and really motivated the students; their passion was contagious.

Amy and Becca discussed the sessions during planning leading to individualised workshops that were tailored to the GCSE syllabus and helped create some memorable revision sessions for the students - bringing Shakespeare alive for them. Thank you all so much.” – Thetford Academy, GCSE English Workshops, 2016

We also offer in-school performances of our rural touring productions at a very reasonable price.

AFTER-SCHOOL TAKEOVER:

This newly launched primary schools project, ‘After-School Takeover’; is an exciting and vibrant way to enable your pupils to explore creative arts skills, teamwork, co-operation, diplomacy, problem-solving and leadership in hour long after-school sessions led by theatre professionals.

Unlike a traditional youth theatre or drama group, ‘Takeover’ participants will have the opportunity to try their hand at writing, directing, prop-making, costume, sound and stage management, as well as performing. In short, all the elements that go into creating a theatre production!

With the support of theatre professionals, each project is led by the children themselves, equipping them, not only with creative arts skills, but also with a multitude of transferable skills including teamwork, communication, problem-solving and leadership, as well as the confidence that comes from seeing their own ideas brought to life.

WHO’S IT FOR?

Group 1: Reception - Year 2 students

Group 2: Year 3 – Year 6 students

Depending on the requirements of your school and students we can offer sessions for both age groups (preferably one after the other on the same day), or just one of the above age groups.

‘Takeover’ runs during term time (10 sessions per term) for 1 hour per group. During the course of the year, each group will create their own small production to be performed to parents (or to the rest of the school if preferred) at the end of the year.
